If you've read The Dark Elements Saga by Jennifer L. Armentrout, then you know why I am asking. SPOILER ALERT. Let's see who is the better choice...Zayne the sweetheart warden, or Roth the sexy demon.

"Both made me happy. Both made me laugh. Both filled me with longing and made my girlie parts all kinds of happy, But only one made me..."

...mmm I wish I had at least half of that going on -_-

Anyway, as we all know (if you don't, please stop reading this post....right now!) Layla has two pretty awesome guys popping hearts right out of their eyes for her. Difficult as it was...she had to make a choice. She had to choose one and hurt the other, which we can say it was a damn bitchy thing to do. Roth was her choice. And I don't know about you guys, but I was completely in sync with her decision...

Let the battle begin!

ZAYNE

"I would know if a part of my heart was gone"

Ok...so Zayne grew up as Layla's adopted brother. They have known each other for a looong time and their friendship is quite strong, yet a little bit tilted towards something more from the beginning.

Stony has perfect physic (dah!), sandy hair, blue eyes and you know...he's perfect. He's sweet, yet hot; protective and caring, yet not obsessive or boring. He's the sweet sensitive (and hot) guy every girl dreams about.

At the beginning of the saga, you know, in White Hot Kiss I was torn. Layla had had a big crush on him for ever (and I could see why) and when they were together, there was this chemistry between them that would have made for a perfect relationship. She wanted something with him for sometime now, and it wasn't a stupid passing crush based on how the guy looks, but it was based on something real after living and knowing everything about him(good and bad). He accepted what and who she was...

Or did he?

You see, he was always there for Layla, but when she tasted someone's soul he would try to hide it. Yes, it was for her own sake...you know, so she wouldn't be thrown out or killed. Yes, he kept her secrets about her demon-y actions. Yes, he protected her from his father and from arrogant and stupid wardens. But... the fact that she wanted to hide that part of her (the demon part) and, if she made a mistake, she would try to act as if it'd never happened...isn't a good sign about Zayne actually accepting her for what she really was. Deep down, he wanted her to be a "pure-blooded" warden.

Plus! It's just weird! To have a heated relationship with someone you have lived with your entire life! Well...maybe if Roth hadn't appear, Layla would've ended up with Zayne and I would've been fine and happy with that. But, you now...

ROTH

“I let you go,” he went on, dipping his head to my neck, and a shiver swept through me. “You were right yesterday. I hurt you. Not like him. Worse. I let you walk out of this house so you could be happy with him. Wasn’t that what you wanted? But you’re here. I let you go and it killed me to do so, and you’re here.”

Omg...it was so difficult to pick a quote for Roth since there are sooo many of them worth publishing here.

First of all...Roth is a jerk. Well he is a demon, and not any kind of demon. He is Astaroth, Crown Prince of Hell. He is unpredictable. He doesn't even have a soul! And as weird as it is...all of this is what makes him so hot and irresistible. He has a rocking body, black hair and golden eyes. He has a lot of tattoos (more than just ordinary ink) and his tongue is pierced (not that I am a fan of this hahaha).

The thing is...he is bold and witty and will make you flush to the bones (I don't know what I would do if I met someone like him in real life)and as unpredictable as he is...we'll always want to see/read what he is going to do or say next. Jennifer Armentrout knows how to make us fall in love with an asshole. Her secret? The asshole actually has a heart.

Since the beginning of the stories, Roth does everything in his power to protect Layla. No matter if he has to go against his Boss, which is a looot to say since his Boss is the Devil himself (literally), he would throw out his life for Layla's. He wants her...yes, but he wants her to be happy and save no matter if for it to be that way, he has to push her away. Regardless of the pain he must have felt, he sacrificed himself for her to be with Stony about ...three times! First, when he took Zayne's place and went to the Pits of Hell (that couldn't have been fun), then he had to make Layla hate him so that her "father" wouldn't hurt her (go figures), and when Roth thought she had decided to be with Zayne...he let her go. And that is why I chose this quote for Roth. It shows that he truly loves her and that he puts her needs and feelings before his own. Not many guys do that...

And! He accepted Layla for who she was...for real. She even says it!

Confession time: I usually go for the sweet sensitive guy...they are more my type. But Roth swooned me. He is a jerk with a heart and his unpredictability really made my heart spin. Plus, he is sweet (when he isn't being witty and showing off) and sensitive.

So! Who do you think is the best guy? Tell me all about it!

Your friend, Camila.
